It is ok for the area. Worth a visit. The new owners have spent a lot of money to update the interior. The food is good and it seems like most people that I take out for dinner enjoy the buffet.

I understand the building has a history to it. I was told it was a hang out for the boyz in the Mafia. (not that there was one)It was the hide away where they play cards etc... The state police came in and arrested the owner and a few others. I'm not sure when it all happened.

It has an beautiful fireplace and a nice atmosphere. I hope the new owners hang in there to keep the business going.

I have been to the Hardwick House a few times with both family and friends. The new owners did a nice job fixing up the place. Each time I had a great experience. The Carvery buffet is a great deal and delicious. The other dinner entrees we have had were also very good. All the dinners include their unlimited soup and salad bar. The also have a children's menu, which is nice when I go with my kids.

I would definitely recommend it.

I was to the Hardwick House for brunch on Sunday. The selection was varied and the food delicious. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to stop on the weekend.

I even hear they have entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights. With such a beautiful dining room and bar area, it is certain to become a favorite night spot.

I went to a wedding there this past weekend. I had not been there since the new owners took over. The food was great and they did a really nice job renovating the place. I would like to go back for dinner again.

I realize I'm adding this a bit late, but the Hardwick House is a great little place. I grew up in Hardwick (and have since moved back) and I remember the place having several names. I think I remember it being something like Alphonso's when I was a kid...we're talking the 80s. Anyone else remember this?
Anyway, my husband and I had our wedding there on 7/7/07. It was the perfect place for a small gathering (at this time the banquet room had not been finished). The food was great, the staff helpful, and the setting was quite intimate.
We have eaten there a few times since then and have been pleased each time. The buffet and regular entrees are equally good. We ate there once on a Saturday and the entertainment was very nice as well. I hope this place is around for the long haul.
