North Warren KnitWits

Our group meets every Wednesday from 9am to 12noon at the Blairstown Community Center on East Avenue to knit and crochet various items that are donated to several charities and organizations in Warren County.

The KnitWits have been in Blairstown for over 10 years and handcraft our items all year long at the Center and from home. Most members are part of the RSVP program (Retired Senior and Volunteer Program) of NORWESCAP, based in Phillipsburg, NJ, but any age can join our group to help.

For the 2005 year we donated over 1200 items consisting of afghans, lapghans, shawls, hats, scarves, mittens, baby sweaters/hats/booties/blankets to nursing homes, hospitals, adult centers, vets, children's programs and other various county organizations.

As of the end of September, 2006, 700 items have been donated with our "busy season" fast approaching; items total will be updated on our blog with other group news...

The KnitWits receive no grants or funding. A gift from you will be used to buy yarn so that we can continue to knit and crochet the many needed items. We also accept donations of yarn. Please keep us in mind...or stop by to visit.
